What are Cupcakes?

Fixings:
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour 🌾
1 teaspoon baking powder 🥄
1/2 teaspoon baking soda 🥄
1/2 teaspoon salt 🧂
1/2 cup unsalted butter, at room temperature 🧈
1 cup granulated sugar 🍚
2 large eggs, at room temperature 🥚🥚
2 teaspoons vanilla extract 🌿
1/2 cup whole milk, at room temperature 🥛

Guidelines:

1️⃣ Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C) 🔥. Line a muffin tin with paper liners and set aside.

2️⃣ In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt until well combined.

3️⃣ In a separate large bowl, using an electric mixer, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy, about 3-4 minutes.

4️⃣ Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Mix in the vanilla extract.

5️⃣ Add half of the flour mixture to the butter mixture and beat on low speed until just combined.

6️⃣ Add the milk and beat until just combined.

7️⃣ Add the remaining flour mixture and beat on low speed until just combined.

8️⃣ Fill the muffin cups about two-thirds full with batter.

9️⃣ Bake for 18-20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center of a cupcake comes out clean.

🔟 Remove the cupcakes from the oven and cool them completely on a wire rack.
